Puro Wireless Headphones Keep Kids’ Ears Healthy – Plus a Giveaway ($99 value)

Both my boys are constantly at their computers. I don’t even want to know how many hours of YouTube videos are played in our house daily.

Yeah, my kids are the kind that can sit for hours watching YouTubers talk about playing Minecraft.

Talk about playing. Not even playing.

Sure, they’ll hop online for hours playing Minecraft with their cousins too and I do love that closeness between them. But too much tech can’t be good for you. Especially if they’re wearing headphones.

PuroWhen Jason’s working on his homework or practicing his viola, Ryan will be sitting at his computer chatting with a friend online or watching some old NFL highlights. To keep the distractions to a minimum, he’ll wear headphones.

As for Jason, he’s usually the first one up in the morning. Considerate kid that he is, he’ll put on his headphones while watching videos to make sure he doesn’t wake any of us up.

It’s all good until you realized how damaging headphones can be, especially to a child.

Ear health is something you’ve probably never even thought about. Luckily the folks at Puro Sound Labs have done more than just think about audio safety. They’ve gone 100 steps further and created studio grade wireless headphones that don’t just look cool and sound great… they’re safe for your delicate ears!

Puro

Puro’s BT-2200 is one sleek package. Seriously,  when food’s good for you, it most likely tastes awful. Extrapolate that out to something healthy for your ears and you’d expect it to look like some mechanical nightmare worn by the likes of Forrest Gump.

PuroTell me these don’t look super slick? Wireless. Comfortable. Simple to use. Those all make for a great pair of headphones. But what really makes these Puro bad boys so fabulous? They’re safe for your kids.

See, some 25 million Americans have some form of hearing loss caused by noise. And that loss is 100% preventable.

The BT-2200 protects your child’s ears by limiting volume to 85 dB. That’s the maximum safe listening level. Not sure where that compares to your daily routine? Take a look at these volumes:

Puro Hearing Health

The bluetooth headphones easily pair up with your computer or even a phone to let your children safely watch their favorite kitten videos on YouTube or tell grandma all about the the goal they scored in soccer earlier that day. Yep, there’s a built-in microphone to let them talk with ease.

What I really love about these besides the built-in safety features are the super simplicity of them. There are only a few buttons on the outside of the headphones to basically turn them on and adjust the volume. That’s it.

Sure, you can plug a USB in to charge them (the battery life is a lengthy 18 hours)  and even use a 3.5mm cable if your battery has completely died out after a weekend marathon of gaming.

Oh, and then there’s the case! I can’t explain why but I am in love with this case. The headphones and wires fit snugly inside the zippered compartment of this hard, fabric-covered case. Maybe it’s the shape? Or the size? Or the feel of it? I can’t really place my finger on it, but Puro just takes a minimalistic type approach to its products, and it works beautifully.

PuroI’m a writer, not an inventor or techie, so I can’t tell you how Puro has done it. But I can tell you that they’ve combined a decrease in ambient noise, a limitation on volume and a fine tuning of sound quality to produce the BT-2200 set of wireless headphones.

I can also tell you that they sound great. It’s nice to know that you don’t need to sacrifice sound for safety. That is definitely music to my ears.

The Puro BT-2200 wireless headphones retail for $99.99 and come in four distinct colors: white, black, purple and blue.

I’m a hard rock fan, though if my 7 year old daughter is in the car it’s usually the kid station on Pandora or Amazon Music. She does have a soft spot for The Pretty Reckless though….

You know those catchy, pop songs that you hate to love? Yep, those! Thanks for the chance to win. These look awesome and I’m digging the case too.
