I’ve already told you about my friend Amy’s inspiring movement Scars R Sexy. She’s one tough broad to put it mildly, having gone through a tremendous amount of physical and mental scarring throughout her entire life.
She’s since started her own fashion company, Rock Scar Love, to help others heal the scars they’ve earned over time. Instead of trying to hide or forget them, Amy chooses to find strength in them. What’s more, she wants all of us to share our scar stories with each other and turn scars from something ugly into something beautiful and downright sexy.

It is about being a person of character in life’s most difficult moments. Finding the strength to fight when we feel like we are losing a battle. In our darkest moments, we look inside ourselves to discover what we are made of. “Sexy” is recognizing that we are made to be precious.
Amy started RockScar Love because she wanted a way to tell her story about how she’s been transformed form her liver transplant in an empowering and inspiring way. So she creating a clothing company that lets individuals express their self-confidence. She doesn’t want people hiding their scars or feeling ashamed. Instead, she wants to shout to the world how sexy her scars are. How powerful a survivor she is. And that’s why her line of designer clothes spout such messages as “Scars R Sexy,” “Privilege of the Scar,” and “Let’s Play Connect the Scars.”
RockScar Love donates 15% of all sales pre-profit to multiple charities across the U.S., in addition to donating products for charity auctions.

How can I get one of these shirts. Being a survivor of having my face ripped off I have scars all across my face and I love this.
I have so many scars! Let’s see, my favorite is the scar from when I had heart surgery when I was 20. It gave me a new lease on life 🙂
I slipped when working with an Exacto knife when I was in junior high, and cut my little finger. It’s a nice scar. Awesome post. She rocks.
