My Ultimate Father’s Day Destination May Surprise You

#DestinationDad Sears

Father’s Day is right around the corner. And as I prepare to celebrate my 11th Father’s Day, I came up with the perfect gift.

We haven’t taken a real family vacation in quite some time. So I think a getaway is certainly in order. Allie couldn’t agree more and even got my favorite Hawaiian shirt ready for a beautiful getaway. But I’m not thinking any tropical island or anything. Please. They’re filled with hot sun and way too much walking around. That’s exhausting.

Uh uh. The ultimate Destination for Dad is none other than… Sears. Sears? Yes, Sears is the perfect #DestinationDad!

Think about it, they’ve got everything you could want for a relaxing, manly time away with the family. Don’t believe me? Well, put on your sandals and sunscreen and take a walk with me, will ya?

#DestinationDad

Seriously, you’d be hard pressed NOT to find a gift for dear old dad at Sears. But first, who’s up for some hot dogss and maybe a few shish kebobs?

#DestinationDad

After a good home grilled meal, I could use a nap. Well, wouldn’t ya know it, there’s plenty of comfy patio furniture to choose from. I’ll let my wife look for a good set while I just sit here and snrk…….

#DestinationDad

Hommina, hommina… WAZZAT? NoIwasn’tsleeping! I mean, uh, dads love tools! Yeah, that’s it! Now, I don’t own a socket wrench set. Never have. Honestly, I’m the most unhandy person on the planet and I have no idea what you’d even use a socket wrench for, but I want one. No, I NEED one!

#DestinationDad

Games are definitely more my speed. And Foosball is my jam! We played tournaments in college and even at one of my old jobs! I was teamed up with my buddy Matt as The Beefcakes. (We even had custom jerseys made!) I could so get down with this as a Father’s Day present!

#DestinationDad

Of course when it comes to summer, most people think of yard work. Boring, right? Wrong! Not when you’re sitting on one of these bad boys!

#DestinationDad

And if any unwieldly trees get in your path, don’t bother trying to steer around them. Nope. I’d hop off the lawnmower and pull out the best possible Father’s Day gift ever… a chainsaw!!!

#DestinationDad

Of course, I’m kind of out of shape. And by “kind of,” I mean “really, really, really.” So I better work out. You can have your fancy gyms at your Hawaiian resorts. Sears has its own built-in gym right here with loads of equipment and free weights.

#DestinationDad

After a long fun day at Sears, I figure it’s time to ride off into the sunset. I couldn’t find any cars for sale, but I got my hands on the next best thing!

#DestinationDad

So now do you believe me? Sears has it all and hands down is a much more exciting vacation destination for dad than any ol’ island. And besides the great products I enjoyed during my Dad-cation, you might want to consider getting dear ol’ pop a Samsung Galaxy Tab3 tablet, a Citizen Men’s Quartz watch or a spiffy Outdoor Life Men’s Twill Shirt.

Oh and just by walking in the door, I earned me 10 manly man points. In fact, I just breathed in the Sears air and… BAM… suddenly I’ve got a killer mustache!

Which is perfect because Sears is running a Snap Your Stache contest to find the greatest mustache in the country! Just take a photo of your dad’s perfect stache (or a selfie if you’re the dad in question!) and share it at Sears.com/DestinationDad.com for a shot at winning one Dadtastic Grand Prize: a trip to the Craftsman MAKEcation where dad’ll hang with a celebrity and learn cool manly stuff like how to make whiskey, roll cigars, grill steaks, master survival skills and more!

Of course there’s loads of Runner-up prizes too including all sorts of Craftsman tools, a grill, lawnmower and more. Everyone who enters earns $5 in Shop Your Way points too, which you can use at Sears to buy your dad the perfect Father’s Day gift! (See how it all comes full circle?) There’s loads more prizes and info available and no, you don’t even need a real mustache to enter.

Uh, not that mine isn’t real or anything. Of course it is. I just, uh, shaved it off after my trip to Sears because my wife couldn’t concentrate on anything except my handsome visage. Apparently there is such a thing as being too manly.

  1. I haven’t been to Sears in a while. I liked going there, too, and trapsing through all the departments, all three levels, including the hardware in the bottom level!!

  3. This was just a great post. I loved all the pictures. Yes, Sears is a #DestinationDad spot. Our local Sears just recently closed down and unfortunately we don’t have one close to us anymore. When we did though, my husband always acted like a kid in the candy shop too when we went there.
