Wanted Most: Muppets Most Wanted

Muppets Most WantedI’m excited. Like really, really, really excited. Not just because I finally used a palindrome for a blog post title, but because 2014 is gonna be one heckuva great year for the Box Office.

You already know that I’ve spent every waking hour this week watching and re-watching the Captain America: The Winter Soldier trailer. Yeah, the Star-Spangled Avenger’s movie sequel hits in early April. No foolin’!

But before Cap faces one of his biggest challenges, another sequel rears its hilarious head. Yep, the Muppets are back!

If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you know I’m a huge fan of the Muppetverse. In fact, hanging with Fozzie Bear is on my bucket list! And while there was a long period after Jim Henson died that I just didn’t enjoy the Muppets, my faith in the felt was fully restored thanks to Jason Segel and Disney. It was their faith in The Muppets that injected new life into the franchise… and yes, straight into my heart.

When the credits rose during my first viewing of The Muppets, I honestly was sad. Sure, I was happy and still laughing, but I was also sad because, well, it was over! My first thought was, “When is the sequel coming???”

MUPPETS MOST WANTED

Well, my long wait is finally over! Muppets Most Wanted hits theaters in March and I am soooo ready to light the lights!

Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid, Dublin and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit the Frog—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon.

Now, this past weekend, I was bored to tears during that non-football game. Heck, even the bulk of the commercials were snoozefests. The ones I did like? Yeah, the movie trailers. Cap was great. I was actually impressed by the new Transformers. And then, yeah, then there was the Muppets all over the place! (If you didn’t even crack a smile at that Muppet-filled Toyota commercial then you must’ve had a funnybone-ectomy at some point in your life.)

And in case you missed it, there’s an extended Game Day edition of the Muppets Most Wanted trailer. Cast your peepers down below:

Two Kermits! One movie! Y’know, I still crack up at the whole Fozzie and Kermit  being twins bit from The Great Muppet Caper, so I can only imagine the ridiculousness of having a truly identical-looking twin for Kermit.

Now if only Captain America could somehow make a guest appearance in Muppets Most Wanted, I think I could die a happy man.

  1. (Wanted Most: Muppets Most Wanted) Our family has been watching the Muppets for years now. My grown children grew up with them, and now grandma is going to share the Muppets with her 1 year old grandson.

  2. Just read that Jim Henson’s son passed away from a massive heart attack, he was only 48. If I read the article correctly, he performed as Sweetums in this movie.

  3. Also, while it’s not really a palindrome since you can’t read it fully backwards, what exactly do you call this when you can read the full words backwards? Semi-palindrome? Half-palindrome?
