What Do Superheroes Do When They Retire?

It’s Christmas Eve Day. Also known as my mom’s birthday for those keeping score at home.

I’m off from work for two days so I get to hang with Allie and the boys! Should be a fun, lazyish two days full of video games, puzzles, Legos, some ice skating and hopefully some sushi. This morning, however, while I was doing a bit of freelance writing, the boys snatched my iPad and ran down to the basement to film their latest movie.

I heard lots of belly laughs and crashes but since there was no crying, I stayed away. About an hour later, Jason and Ryan raced into my office asking if I wanted to see their latest video.  I’d never refuse them, but when their video’s called What Superheroes Do When They’re Retired, I was seriously intrigued!

Take a look for yourself:

I’m impressed on many levels with this one! First off, it’s fairly short, which is perfect. Usually, their videos go a full 15 minutes, much of it filled with inaudible screaming. Plus, this one had a theme, had some cool editing effects and I literally was laughing out loud at the last part of it.

I know Ryan is always checking his stats, so if you liked the video please give it a thumbs up! And if you really liked it, go ahead and subscribe to VideoWaxy87‘s YouTube Channel. You’ll totally make his day!

Do my boys have a future career in film making?

  2. It’s a real gift that you are giving your boys. The ability to entertain themselves and to use their imagination. Good job, Mom & Dad. Give yourselves a pat on the back.

    Happy New Year ♥

  3. This was an awesome post, it reminded me of my not-so distant childhood with my two younger brothers. We didn’t record any video but, we sure had lots of fun doing what your boys were doing. To answer your question, I believe they may have a future career in film making. They have creativity and guts. Thank you for sharing. 🙂

  4. Very cute! Poor kids, I can from the background they have no toys! LOL! (I always pictured retired superheroes in a dedicated old-age home, sort of like the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital for old actors.) You know, Batman & Spidey could sit around, reliving their past feats of strength and courage. But Superman would go to the Fortress of Solitude…except it might be too cold for an aging superhero. Think he’d move it to Florida?
