I recently joined a group of Dad Bloggers on Facebook. I’m a dad and a blogger, so I’m pretty sure I qualify as a daddy blogger.
The group is still in its infancy but it’s growing pretty rapidly. It was started by Oren of A Blogger and a Father, as a place for dad bloggers to share tips and advice about blogging and parenting. So far there’ve been a number of great conversations such as the benefits of starting a Facebook fan page, writing for yourself versus writing for your audience, and blogging-specific ones like how much to charge for a sponsored post.
Overall, I have to say that everyone has been incredibly nice and supportive of each other and the group itself. I know there are tons of mommy blogger groups out there, but it’s real tough to find any sort of traction with dad bloggers. I’ve tried a few dad communities in the past and they all seem pretty dead. They’re fairly empty and not much going on. So I’m real pumped for Oren’s group and hope it continues to grow and thrive.
Another advantage of the group is that we can do some fun things such as group giveaways! I’m happy to announce that Mommy’s Busy, Go Ask Daddy is running its first co-hosted giveaway! Yep, I joined a bunch of other dad bloggers from the group to offer up a pretty sweet giveaway!
