You Won’t Be Able to Keep Your Eyes Off of the Motorola DROID Turbo Sapphire

Ask any blogger what their most precious possession is, and invariably you’ll get the same answer: my cell phone.

What’s the second most precious possession for them then? That’d be a battery backup.

Yeah, bloggers (myself included) live and die by our cell phone charge. Let’s face it, bloggers take a lot of photos. I mean a LOT of photos. From funny signs to cute puppies to whatever food is sitting on the plate in front of them. It all needs to be documented. And of course shared on umpteen million social networks. And this is all on a regular daily basis.

Just imagine if a blogger’s traveling for an event!

I’ve been on a lot of blog events myself from short day trips to week-long excursions that are jam packed with various activities. I’ll admit that I don’t always remember to bring my battery backup or even my charger. On those days… ugh… I’m lucky if I get through an hour sometimes.

That’s why I’m fascinated by one of Motorola’s newest DROID phones. I would absolutely tag the DROID Turbo Sapphire Blue as a product to keep your eye on!

This bad boy is overloaded with insanely cool features from a slick camera to a super large screen to possibly the most important smart phone innovation in years… turbo charging!

Yes, you read that correctly: Turbo Charging. Think K.I.T.T., the talking car from Knight Rider, with his souped-up Turbo Boost button! See, the Turbo Sapphire features a Turbo Charge Battery that can fully charge in just 15 minutes, giving you a full 8 hours of battery life! 15 minutes!!! That’s only half a SpongeBob SquarePants episode!

And if you’re not in a panic and in need of a super-fast charge, you’ll be blown away by the normal battery lifespan. Yep, you can get up to two full days (that’s 48 hours for you mathematically challenged folks) of mixed-use battery life!

But the DROID Turbo Sapphire Blue is more than just a speedy smartphone. It’s damn tough too. That’s because it’s got water-repellent nano-coating and Corning Gorilla Glass to help protect it from all those times you’ll invariably drop it on the floor and spill a glass of water all over it. Not that I’ve ever done anything like that before. Uh uh. Not me…

You really want to talk durability, though? Get this, the Sapphire Blue features premium ballistic nylon which was originally developed for military use. And underneath these woven materials, the device includes a layer of Kevlar. Yes, Kevlar! That’s a material five times stronger than metal. Your phone’s like a miniature superhero!

Oh, did I forget to mention that it’s also super thin and real lightweight? You betcha! Oh and in terms of the actual phone itself, you’ve got some killer specs in a sharp display and one powerful processor that blows away the competition. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

You want weather, you got weather. Forget guessing if it’s going to rain or not tomorrow. You’ll get up-to-the-minute weather reports from AccuWeather MinuteCast that can predict weather patterns on your exact street address for a two hour period. And it’s only a finger flick away.

Apparently Motorola thinks there’s never too much of a good thing because they also toss in one heckuva hi-res camera. That’s a 21MP camera and video capture in 4k.

If you know any bloggers with a birthday coming up, you can’t get them a better gift than the DROID Turbo. They’ll thank you with a few hundred photos of them enjoying their new phone. And of course, if it’s good enough for bloggers, it’s certainly a great pic for you non-bloggers out there as well.

  1. Wow – I love the quick charging option. It seems like they took all the problems people have with their cell phones and solved them with this model.
