We Got Our Party On With Mattel’s New Max Steel

I participated in this sponsored campaign for One2One Network. All opinions stated are my own. As a parent there are a ton of important lessons we need to teach our kids. Compassion. Equality. Friendship. It's a job we will never truly outgrow. Now, while both my boys are incredibly sweet and caring kids (you can blame my wife for that), I'm super proud of one big accomplishment. The most important lesson I've taught them, the one  that I've been drilling into their noggins since they were just three apples tall, well, they most definitely have it down pat. Yes, I'm talking about embracing the superhero lifestyle. I grew up on comic books and superheroes, and ...

Peek Inside Disney’s Animation Research Library #LittleMermaidEvent

When I found out that part of my trip to Disney Studios was going to include a tour of the Disney Animation Research Library I geeked. I geeked hard. The only thing I love more than drawing and designing is seeing the work done by the masters. I couldn't believe I would actually see the original artwork from classics such as Bambi, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid and more. The ARL (Animation Research Library) is top secret. That's not an exaggeration; even the exact location is kept hush hush. So, while I can't tell you everything, and personal photos were not allowed, I can share with you some of the official ...

Movie Review: Disney’s PLANES #DisneyPlanesPremiere

Today Disney's 52nd animated film, PLANES, hits theaters nationwide. Following the success of CARS, Disney now takes to the skies with the fast and funny adventures of competitive flight. I was one of the lucky attendees for the Planes Premiere at El Capitan theater in Hollywood, California and, to be honest, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I hadn't seen CARS in the theater because my youngest was too young and my oldest was too old. Later, we watched it at home and, while I did enjoy it, I think I missed some of the impact that the big screen provides. Luckily, I was able to view PLANES in all ...

Disney Planes Premier – Los Angeles Here We Come! #DisneyPlanesPremier #LittleMermaidEvent

Ah, Los Angeles; bright lights, movie stars, talking planes and mermaids. No, I haven't lost my mind - I'm talking about the LA Premier of Disney's Planes and a spectacular The Little Mermaid event! Just in case you're wondering - I'm not Andrew. I don't even play Andrew on TV. My name is Kenda and I have the awesome privilege of representing Mommy's Busy, Go Ask Daddy at the upcoming Planes premier in sunny California. August 4th through August 6th I'll be hanging out with the finned and famous to bring you sneak peeks, cutting edge interviews and exclusive views of Disney's newest animated feature Planes, the Diamond Edition of The ...

Win Ben 10 Omniverse for the Nintendo Wii or Nintendo DS (Ends 12/15)

We used to watch Ben 10 on the Cartoon Network all the time. Jason was always into it, especially the different characters you can become. Ryan kind of liked it but I think he was always a little scared. To be honest, Allie and I probably loved it the best. Over time, Jason lost interest (or rather, 20 other things stole his attention) and we stopped watching the cartoon regularly. The kids still have loads of the toys, and there are Ben 10 stickers all over their walls. We haven't played any of the Ben 10 video games, but when I was approached to do a giveaway of the new Ben ...

Spider-Man, My Kids and the Kissing Episode

If you've been following my blog (and if you haven't, why not?), you know that I recently discovered Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends on Netflix and I've been watching it with my kids regularly. It was easily my favorite cartoon as a kid and I just love watching it with my two boys now. But to this day, I don't recall the infamous Spider-Man kiss. We just finished them all, but there was a big problem with episode #22. I have very vague memories of this one, but my wife doesn't recall it at all. She just kept screaming, "There is no way this ever aired. This has to be a ...
