I’ve always had a soft spot for Nintendo’s Donkey Kong. I mean the tie-wearing gorilla’s just misunderstood, right? After all, Mario owes the big lug his whole career since the original Donkey Kong game is what started it all for the Mario Universe.

And now DK is back to doing all sorts of monkey business (see what I did there?) in his newest game Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze for the Wii U. It’s on like Donkey Kong when DK and his buddies team up to save their home and their banana hoard from all sorts of marauding Vikings who are nothing but bad news!

  • Dixie Kong is back to join the adventure as a playable character alongside Diddy Kong. Either can buddy up with Donkey Kong, and each character offers a different game play experience.

  52. Pokemon Yellow. I loved that Pikachu would follow me around! Or Pokemon Snap… or battle… pretty much any pokemon game was fun. And Mario… man, so many good games! Legend of Zelda, Mario Kart, Mario, Pokemon, Donkey Kong, Mannnn, Nintendo is where its at

  72. My favorite nintendo game of all time is still Tetris. But l love that they started making this DK games again. The SNES games were great, I love the Wii one and hope to have this one.

  99. My favorite game of all time was Donkey Kong. I had it on the original game system and flipped the score multiple times. My sister and I would play so much our hands would hurt so we learned to play with our feet/toes so we didn’t have to stop.

  133. It was Super Mario Bros 3 for the longest time but I recently picked up a wii u and I think that New Super Mario Bros U is probably my new favorite. Classic side scroller design, a great difficulty that ramps up quickly, tons of secrets adds to its replay factor. But lets be honest, anything with Mario is going to be a hit.

  143. That is a really tough question because I like so many for so many reasons! So I’ll go with Mario Kart because that’s been hours of fun with the family 🙂
