Talk about getting your message across.

Yeah, so as luck would have it, I’m writing this post from my hotel room in London, England. I’m over here on business for a few weeks (more to come on that in future posts!). Yesterday, while walking the streets of London, I saw a bus pass with a huge billboard on its side for DreamWorks’ new animated movie HOME.

You haven’t heard of it yet? Didn’t see the hysterical trailers for it? Well here’s a quick synopsis:

When Oh, a lovable misfit from another planet, lands on Earth and finds himself on the run from his own people, he forms an unlikely friendship with an adventurous girl named Tip who is on a quest of her own. Through a series of comic adventures with Tip, Oh comes to understand that being different and making mistakes is all part of being human, and together they discover the true meaning of the word HOME.

So it’s about an alien far from home just trying to make it through a crazy world and get back to familiar territory. And… uh… here I am, far from home just trying to make it through a crazy country (They eat baked beans for breakfast over here! BEANS!) and get back to familiar territory.

On a serious note (even though this film is chock full of laughs, not tears), I do know what Oh is going through. I’ve been over here for a week now and am desperately missing my family back home. Sure we’ve got email and Face Time thankfully, but nothing beats hanging with your home crowd.

HOME

I’m hoping I don’t get myself stuck in a really awkward position (like Oh and Tip above).

HOME

Unlike the brave Oh (above), I deliberately did not rent a car over here in England, as I didn’t trust myself to drive on the right side of the road. Aliens, well, they just don’t have the same fears I do it seems.

HOME

I’m really looking forward to seeing HOME when it hits theaters on March 27, 2015. I loved DreamWorks Animation’s two How to Train Your Dragon movies. Gorgeous to look at and highly entertaining throughout. And HOME looks to hit the same high notes. Especially when it comes to the cast.

Voiced by Jim Parsons (Big Bang Theory), Oh alone will crack me up for hours. But there’s also Rihanna, Steve Martin and Jennifer Lopez. Should certainly make for some interesting dialogue.

HOME

So pack your bags; it’s time to head HOME! Well, not for me just yet. I’ve still got to deal with tea and crumpets for another week or two…

HOME crashes into theaters March 27!

  6. I was a kid, in girl scouts… We went on a camping trip, and I remember being so excited… A weekend away from my parents… I got there, we did some activities, swimming campfire, s’mores!!! Then came sleeping… I was okay, and then it stormed… I tried… I couldn’t stand it… I got scared, between the noises outside and the thundering, lightning.. I got out of my tent in my pjs and started walking home in the rain… One of the park guards found me and took me back to the park office… Called my mom, it turned out to be like 2am… She told him I was with girl scouts, and I told her & him, I just wanted to go home… My mother ended uo coming to get me, I sat in the parks office until she got there… I barely lasted 24hrs. :'(
