KNEX Hyperspeed Roller Coaster

As my kids get older, they’re both getting a bit more daring when it comes to roller coasters. On a recent trip to Hershey Park, Ryan dragged me onto this crazy ride called the Wildcat. It was rated a 5 (out of 5) in terms of how aggressive a ride it was. Oh, did I mention I’m so not a fan of roller coasters?

It was Ryan’s second time on the Wildcat and my first (and last!) time. Most folks who love roller coasters would probably call this one an average ride at best I’d say. Me? Yeah, I’m man enough to admit I screamed like a 6-year-old girl the entire time. My throat actually hurt when I was done. It’s crazy the things we do to make our kids happy.

Anyways, my good buddies at K’NEX offer up roller coasters that are so much more my speed. You can easily build your own indoor amusement park with all the fantastic coasters, ferris wheels and other fun “rides” in their collections. One of their new ones looks amazingly awesome, but yeah, if it were real, you’d never find me within even 1000 miles of this sucker.

  1. I used to go to Cedar Point in Ohio every year and I remember when the Demon Drop came out, it was the scariest ride I had ever been on. I like the corkscrew best though.

  4. I haven’t been on one in a long time but I had a blast on one of the ones at Canada’s Wonderland. I don’t remember what it was called, and I don’t travel far from home to have much experience with ‘coasters in other places. Do love them though, good to get the blood pumping!

  5. I don’t have a favourite…only ones I have ever been on are the small one at Calaway Park here in Calgary, and the one that comes with the Calgary Stampede every July. I’ve never been to any other amusement park before.

  10. I’m a bit of a wimp and a scaredy cat when it comes to rides. I’m afraid of getting stuck for hours or the machine breaking and me flying!

  11. I’m honestly not a fan of roller coasters. They scare the heck out of me. I feel much more at home on a tilt-a-whirl or a scrambler 😉

  12. Though not a roller coaster fan, I’d like to try the roller coaster at the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) in Vancouver, one of the last wooden coasters in the world.
