The LEGO Ninjago Movie Review – Not Just for Kids

The LEGO Ninjago Movie

LEGO is everything. And everything, yes, everything is awesome. First came The LEGO Movie. Then LEGO Batman. And now… The LEGO Ninjago Movie!

At this point, LEGO can do no wrong. Everything they touch is… well, awesome. While the LEGO Ninjago movie sneaks into theaters this weekend, I was actually lucky enough to get an invite to an early screener of the movie! Unfortunately, I was also unlucky enough to have a conflict so I was unable to attend. Epic LEGO fail on my part, I know.

But back to the lucky side of things, I have the privilege of knowing some pretty darn amazing bloggers. Bloggers who won’t hesitate to lend a hand (even a yellow LEGO hand) when it’s needed.

Thankfully, down in Atlanta, my new BBF (That’s “Best Blogger Friend”) Christa Thompson of TheFairytaleTraveler.com was cool enough to share her thoughts with you guys. Thanks so much for the assist, Christa! Now, go grab your popcorn and dive in as you read her most awesome LEGO Ninjago Movie review.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie

LEGO Ninjago Movie Review – The Skinny

Let’s face it, who doesn’t like LEGO movies? I mean, they are known to be funny, charming and packed full of adventure. And for us grown up kids, they are downright geektabulous (new word alert). The LEGO Ninjago Movie wasn’t any different. And in fact, may have been the best LEGO Movie yet.

My very first impression was from the animation. WOW! They really leveled up on the bricks. There was a notable difference from LEGO Batman in the detail of each brick. And not just in close ups, but on large moving characters like the Green Ninja’s (Lloyd) Dragon. At times I felt like these were real-life bricks.

The story was a typical Ninjago debacle. If you’ve been a fan of the series then you’ll understand the base of the film (and many of the punchlines). But without giving things away I’ll say that it’s on par. The story kept my interest and kept me laughing.

The message was clear. We all have an inner strength. We just need to tap into it and believe in ourselves. This goes for kids just as much as adults. I thought the message was positive and feel good.

The cast was all-star. I enjoyed watching the behind the scenes teaser even after I saw the film.

Overall the the LEGO Ninjago Movie was very entertaining. Stay for the credit scene if you’re a fan of Jackie Chan. Everyone is going to love this film. Plan on adding it to the collection at home too.

All kids should believe in themselves!! My son is really shy he is smart and funny he has confidence around me but around people he first meets he just shys away.

  2. i took my son to see it on opening day. i didn’t enjoy it as much as i’ve enjoyed the other lego movies, but my son liked it. i felt like it didn’t have as much for adults as some of their other movies did. After discussing the movie with my son, i guess it makes more sense if you follow the show.
