Sears In-Vehicle Pick-Up Solves the Mother’s Day Dilemma

Moms have the hardest (and clearly worst paying) job around. They also have the most important job anyone could ever undertake.

Sure, anyone can cook, clean, and dress their kids. Keeping the little guys and gals alive is a full-time gig but that’s only a fraction of what a mom does. There’s the teaching, the support, the learning from failures, the knowing when to let gos and above all us, the unconditional love that only seems to grow bigger with each passing day.

Moms, you guys are awesome on so many different levels. That’s why the least us dads can do is make sure you have the bestest Mother’s Day around. Luckily, we’ve got a few more weeks to start planning and shopping and… wait. What’s that? Say what now? Mother’s Day is extra early this year? It’s Sunday, May 8?

No need to activate extreme panic mode just yet. Thanks to some innovative shopping features from Sears, us guys can easily find the perfect Mother’s Day gift for our wives (or moms or aunts or grandmas, etc), and snag it on the way to pick up that pizza we promised for dinner. Yeah, the kids love when it’s dad’s night to cook!

If you’re like me, you may not have a clue what to get your wife for Mother’s Day. If television has taught me anything, it’s that women definitely do not like bowling balls or vacuum cleaners for Mother’s Day gifts. Thankfully, Sears knows a thing or three about moms and what they want. At, you’ll find the perfect gift for the mom in your life from a variety of categories like Style, Entertaining at Home, Outdoor Fun, Bed & Bath and more.

We’re talking gifts for all kinds of moms from the Fashionable Mom to the Fitness-Focused Mom to the Techie Mom. I wasn’t exactly sure what to get Allie for Mother’s Day but after browsing through the Kitchen small appliances, it hit me.

We’re both exercising more and eating healthier. One thing she’s always wanted is a juicer to make us smoothies. Blenders are great but they’re big, clunky and a pain to clean. After a quick search, I found it. The perfect gift that clocked in just under $100.

The NutriBullet Pro 900 even sounded cool. Like something out of a sci-fi movie. I easily added it to my cart and then decided to give Sears’ In-Vehicle Pickup a try!

To be honest, it couldn’t have been easier. After selecting my store and making my purchase, I just needed to wait for an email confirmation telling me my order was ready for pickup.

The email didn’t take long to pop up, so I hopped in the car with Ryan to go pick it up! We drove the 12 minutes to Sears and then pulled right up to a specially marked spot near the building that’s reserved for special folks like us who were using the In-Vehicle Pickup.

Sears In-Vehicle Pickup

Once there, I simply loaded up the Sears app on my phone and got to work!

You’ll easily find the In-Vehicle Pickup icon. When you’re sitting in the parking space just click that button.

You’re then given a pretty simple choice: Picking up or making a return. I clicked the picking up button.

Your available items should show up next. I only ordered one item, so the NutriBullet Pro 900 was all I saw. If you ordered a number of items (come on, mom deserves it!), you could choose to pick up only a few if you’d like. I simply hit Continue and then the waiting began!

At that point, it’s just a waiting game. Sears even starts a clock to show you how long you are waiting, with a promise that a store associate will be at your car in just five minutes. Turns out it’s less than that.

After about 2 1/2 minutes, an employee walked out of the building and right up to my car. He simply scanned the barcode on my phone, had me sign for my order and then promptly handed me my order.

Just like that I had pulled up to Sears, clicked a few buttons and in less than 5 minutes total, I had my NutriBullet Pro 900 sitting next to me. All without even leaving my car.

Talk about your insanely convenient shopping feature! I can think back to all the times Allie would call me from the car saying that she was going out shopping but the kids fell asleep in the car and she didn’t want to wake them. Imagine how insanely helpful this would be for moms or dads who normally just sit in their driveway with the car running as their toddlers snooze away.

NutriBullet #AllForMomRyan and I got home and thankfully Allie was out with Jason. That gave us the perfect opportunity to wrap the NutriBullet Pro 900!

Wrapped with plenty of time to spare. In fact, we have a few days to spare! Sears In-Vehicle Pickup most definitely is a life saver when it comes to us shopping procrastinators. It’s also crazy convenient for returning or exchanging items. The worst part about shopping is always waiting on line. Thankfully with this shopping service at Sears, you won’t even need to step foot in the store.

What’s more, if you take advantage of Sears In-Vehicle Pickup for Mother’s Day, you win a pretty sweet prize!

Find a great gift for your wife or mom As a bonus, shoppers that use Sears In-Vehicle Pickup for their online purchases between Tuesday, May 3 and Saturday, May 7 are automatically entered for a chance to win a $5,000 Sears gift card! 1. Thats a nifty little service, I didnt know Sears was doing it. I shop there often for a lot of things. This would be great for anything really but like you said especially gifts. I hope your wife liked her NutriBullet!

  2. Now that’s a really great convenience! I can see elderly, physically-challenged, or parents with kids in the car wanting to use this service. It’s kind of like a drive thru!
