Meet Bret McKenzie, the Man Behind the Muppet Music #MuppetsMostWantedEvent

The Muppets just wouldn't be the Muppets without music. Singing and dancing is what made them so popular in the first place, so it goes without saying, that their latest movie Muppets Most Wanted is chock full of all-new terriffic toe-tapping tunes! Muppet Music Master Bret McKenzie is back in the conductor's chair this go round. His work on 2011's The Muppets was so inspirational and celebrational that Bret actually won an Oscar for his song "Man or Muppet." And rightfully so! While "Man or Muppet" is a seriously tough act to follow, Bret somehow outdid himself with the Muppets Most Wanted soundtrack. Personally, I like the overall soundtrack slightly better this ...

Tink and Friends Hit the High Seas for Adventure in Disney’s Newest Animated Film The Pirate Fairy #PirateFairy

Zarina, the Pirate Fairy! What I'm about to say may shock you. It may rock you to the core. No, I'm not about to say anything nice about the Boston Red Sox, calm down. What I am going to say is that I recently watched my very first Disney Fairy movie. And... well, I liked it. I'll save a full review for later, but on my recent Disney Cross-Country Blogging Adventure (a.k.a. #MuppetsMostWantedEvent), myself and two dozen bloggers hit the DisneyToon Studios for a screening of Disney's newest animated movie The Pirate Fairy. We started the morning by racing around the lobby, trying not to break all the timber-shivering pirate booty we ...

Muppets Most Wanted Director James Bobin on Filming a Sequel, Huggability and Avoiding Sweden #MuppetsMostWantedEvent

Muppets Most Wanted Director James Bobin. Photo: Disney He may not be as big a name as Spielberg, Lucas or Scorsese, but to me, James Bobin has them all beat. The English-born director is responsible for bringing back one of the greatest families of all time to the big screen: The Muppets. Bobin, who directed 2011's The Muppets, is back for a second helping with Disney's Muppets Most Wanted, this time adding a co-writing credit to his directing duties. I had the pleasure of meeting Bobin in person recently as part of my Muppets Most Wanted Event trip in L.A. Myself and two dozen bloggers joined him at the Beverly Hilton Hotel ...

Muppets Most Wanted Brings the Laughs to an All-New Global High – #MuppetsMostWantedEvent

They're doing a sequel! The Muppets are BACK! Photo: Disney It's tough being a sequel in Hollywood. Sure you've got a built-in audience, but you also have crazy high expectations and generally get churned out quickly for big bucks all at the expense of a solid story. In the history of awesometastic movies, it's rare that a sequel isn't just good but better than the original. A few notable exceptions include The Empire Strikes Back, Superman II and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. So when a sequel to 2011's Jason Segel-starring The Muppets was announced, I was both ecstatic and incredibly skeptical. Yes, I know there've been roughly seven sequels ...

My First Muppets Interview – Kermit, Miss Piggy and Constantine Spill the Beans #MuppetsMostWantedEvent

I've conducted a lot of eclectic celebrity interviews in my geek-filled journalstic career. Marvel co-founder Stan Lee. Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill. WWF superstar The Ultimate Warrior. Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane. Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider. Not-so-silent-Bob Kevin Smith. But none of them, not a one (Sorry, Dee!), can hold a candle to the group interview I was part of last week in LA for the #MuppetsMostWantedEvent. Myself and roughly two dozen other bloggers had the privilege of sitting down in a private room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel with the stars of Disney's new movie Muppets Most Wanted. There I was, sitting front row center as Kermit, Miss Piggy and ...

I Got My Muppet on for the Muppets Most Wanted Red Carpet Premiere at the El Capitan Theatre

Last week, I got my Muppet on. Big time. I didn't just get to see the new Muppets movie before everyone else... I got to attend the Muppets Most Wanted Red Carpet Premiere at the famous El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, CA! To say this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience is a tad bit of an understatement. The entire night was a crazy, non-stop blur of emotions and excitement. And popcorn. Lots of popcorn. (Yes, you get free popcorn and soda at red carpet premieres!) Since you couldn't make it yourself, I thought I'd share the entire Muppetastic evening with my readers! So put on your nice shoes and follow me! Myself and roughly 25 ...
