A few months back, I had the honor of touring Nintendo’s NYC offices, where I got to play around with some of their big future releases. One of them was an odd little game for the Nintendo 3DS called Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash.
A mainly straight-forward side scroller, Chibi-Robo! just had something about it that I instantly fell in love with. Chibi-Robo himself is 12 kinds of adorable. He’s this spunky li’l robot with a power cord for a tail. The really neat part of the game is that Chibi-Robo uses his “tail” in the game to whip enemies, swing across platforms and solve all kinds of puzzles.
Cute, right?
Yeah, even the main storyline’s adorable! It seems alien invaders are stealing all of our world’s resources including… gasp!… our delicious snacks! Our only hope for survival rests with a tiny li’l robot.
Hidden in treasure chests throughout the game are some of the best treasure around… loads of worldwide snacks.
Of course, there’s an amiibo that works with the game, and it’s seriously as cute as you’d expect!
I was ecstatic when two copies of the game showed up from our friends at Nintendo. Finally, Jason and Ryan would have a chance to play this one themselves!
