Blog Name: Trippin’ With Tara
I first met Tara on the Muppets Most Wanted Event a few years back. Since then, I’ve seen her at various blogging conferences and events and always get a warm greeting from her. I’m constantly amazed and impressed at how professional Tara is, yet it clearly shows that she’s having the time of her life going on various adventures and sharing them with her readers.
How did you get started blogging?
I worked for a vacation home company in the Disney area, basically doing PR and started a successful blogger program. Disneynature was releasing Chimpanzee Earth Day 2012. Super short version, I partnered with the PR rep from Disney and the Kissimmee CVB to help put on a 5 day event that was pretty amazing. After a year of bloggers encouraging me to join their world, the PR rep gave me that extra push to have me go for it. I can’t believe that was 4 years ago. Time truly files.
What do you love most about blogging?
The relationships, with both other bloggers and the PR reps. I have met some of my best friends and had some of the most memorable opportunities because of blogging.
What’s the worst part about blogging?
It’s not a 9-5 job. The hours are more like all the time. Especially the social media aspect. It’s hard to balance. But after 4 years, I am getting better. And also, it’s not consistent, so it’s a lot of work.
Why do you blog?
It allows me to do what I love. Travel, cover entertainment, include my family, pick who I work with, when I work, and even how hard. It’s really the dream job.
How has blogging affected your life?
In the last 4 years I have traveled to amazing destinations, interviewed some of the biggest names in entertainment, I have been on sets of some of the most popular TV shows, test rode in an autonomous car… I’d say my life is crazy, but exactly how I want it to be.
Have you met other bloggers in person? Is it awkward?
That hasn’t happened with me. I love meeting online friends face to face. I am horrible with names though. I have been my whole life. So I tend to call people by the wrong name sometimes. I know faces, but I have such a hard time with names.
What’s the most embarrassing post you’ve ever written?
Oh, probably the one on peeing your pants for Depends. lol
You’ve met a slew of celebrities. Other than myself, of course, who was your favorite?
I have many, all for different reasons. Angelina Jolie ,for she surprised me the most of how kind she was. She was lovely and meeting her changed my opinion of her. Anthony Mackie is one of the funniest. JJ Abrams and the rest of the cast of Star Wars because, that was awesome. And I love Chris Pratt for he’s just such a great guy and I’ve been fortunate to speak with him more than once.
Which celebrity are you most looking forward to interviewing?
For years that answer was Robin Williams. I hoped that would happen. Now I think Will Ferrell would be so fun to interview. And well, there’s that guy that plays a pirate, I think his name is Johnny Depp. 😉
You travel a lot. What’s your best travel advice for my readers?
Don’t overpack, take lots of photos, and always pack a bag that can be a carryon for souvenirs.
Your blog has certainly evolved over time. Where do you see it heading in the future?
I am starting to get brave with video, so I’d like to keep going in that direction. And it seems travel took a backseat to entertainment last year. Working on evening that back out.
What do your teenage daughters think of their blogging mom?
They love seeing me do what I love. I try to live by example. They both have big dreams of their own, and though blogging may be in their near future (SiteSeeingSisters.com) since they both travel a lot already, but they are going on a trip this summer to the Galapagos Islands for two weeks. So they have plans.

She looks like she has a lot of fun blogging! I would love to become more of a travel blogger, with homeschooling out daughter it would give us the opportunity to explore different parts of the States.

I just read your post on Tara from Trippin with Tara. I get the impression that she has lots of energy and seems to thrive on her busy life. I think her daughters are beautiful.
