The Cars 3 Writing Team Reveals the Story Behind the Story

The "Cars 3" Long Lead Press Days, held at Sonoma Raceway, including presentations by the "Cars 3" writers (left to right) Mike Rich, Bob Peterson and Kiel Murray and Story Supervisor Scott Morse, held on March 28, 2017 in Sonoma, Calif. (Photo by Marc Flores) Story is King. That's pretty much the mantra at Pixar Animation Studios, where they tell some amazing stories. From Toy Story to Finding Nemo, the Pixar team seems to flawlessly crank out success after success. But what really goes on behind those closed doors? How do these masterpieces make it to the Big Screen? That's exactly what I got to find out on a recent ...

Get Your Kids Educated for Cars 3 With Pixar in a Box’s Free Online Courses

CARS 3 (Pictured) - Sterling concept art by Artist Garrett Taylor. ©2017 Disney•Pixar. All Rights Reserved. Pixar's full of some pretty smart people. They don't just know how to entertain families at the movies; they can even make your kids want to learn. See, the creative geniuses at Pixar Animation Studio have compiled an online course called Pixar in a Box to teach your kids the importance of math and science and how it all comes together in beautiful animated fashion. On my recent Disney blogger trip to San Francisco for the #Cars3Event, we had an absolute blast touring Pixar studios. We also got to sit and meet with some of ...

Make Your Own Baby Groot Cupcakes and Celebrate Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel Studios can say so very much with so few words. Why, just three little words in fact can move even the stiffest of hearts. No, I'm not talking about, "I love you." I'm referring to the tree-like alien Groot, who's famous for his extremely limited vocabulary that consists almost entirely of, "I am Groot." We just saw Guardians of the Galaxy 2 this weekend to celebrate my son's 14th birthday and the movie was unbelievably amazing. I think I may've liked it even better than the first, and I really loved the first! But that's not what this post is about. It's about being hooked on a feeling. And that ...

I Raced at Sonoma Raceway, Took the Cars 3 Pit Stop Challenge and Learned the History of NASCAR Racing

Photo by Marc Flores You know your day's going to be amazing when it starts out with your bus driving straight onto the race track at Sonoma Raceway. No, this wasn't a dream. Nor a video game. It was one of the wildest (and longest!) days of my blogging life. It was surreal. It was competitive. It was pure adrenaline. It was.... early. Very very early. I'm so not a morning person. Not at all. So when I saw the itinerary for the Disney Blogger #Cars3Event trip, I definitely had some mixed feelings. Sure, the interviews, experiences and fellow blogger interaction sounded out of this world. But there was that one thing... Our bus ...

My Pixar Studios Tour Revved Me Up for Cars 3

Walking along the sun-filled campus of Pixar Studios in Emeryville, California, you can't help but feel the physical presence of creativity in the air. It sounds cliche, I know, but after getting a private tour of the grounds, along with two dozen fantastic bloggers on a #Cars3Event, I now have a better understanding of why Pixar's movies are so incredibly entertaining, adorable and full of pure imagination. Pixar isn't just another film studio cranking out movie after movie with the almighty dollar in mind. Uh uh. It's one gigantic brainstorming session mixed with the ultimate in team-building exercises. Pixar is an incredibly creative company because of one very simple idea: they foster creativity. ...

Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi ‘Forces’ Its Way Into My Fanboy Heart

My favorite Star Wars film of all-time is still The Empire Strikes Back. There's just something chilling about the middle part of a trilogy that ends on a sour note. The good guys win, kind of. But the bad guys get a victory of their own, and for that 9-year-old boy still inside of me, that ending still haunts me to this day. Plus the fact that AT-ATs are THE coolest vehicles ever and the entire fight on Hoth is amazing and finally meeting Yoda is beyond amazing and... okay, okay. You get the point. I love, love, love everything about the Star Wars Original Trilogy. I also am beyond stoked ...
