Yep, I remember hearing that all the time when I was a kid. It seems the Chipmunks have been around forever! I used to watch the really old cartoons when I was a kid, as well as the newer Saturday morning series. There was just something lovable about that trio of singing chipmunks, y’know?
I’m fairly certain their voices (seriously, who doesn’t love hearing their own voice through a chipmunks “filter”?) played a big part in just about everybody and their mother falling in love with this singing sensation. Not a Christmas goes by without hearing them belt out a jingle or two.
Recently, the gang made a splash with the latest generation thanks to a couple of movies from FOX. And now Alvin, Simon and Theodore are back! This time, they’ve hit the road in their latest FOX installment Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip! The Blu-ray/DVD just hit store shelves, so you have no excuses for hopping in your own car and heading out to pick up a copy.
I haven’t seen this one yet, though I really loved the previous Alvin movies. They’re adorably modern but still hold the same attitudes and sensibilities as the original cartoon critters did. My review copy is in the mail, so for now I’ll just have to park it and wait until the Blu-ray arrives for our next big Family Movie Night.
To add to the party, though, you can go ahead and print out these fun coloring pages and activity sheets to keep you and your kids busy until the Chipmunks pull into your driveway.
