Game: Kirby: Planet Robobot

The pink puffball is back in an all new adventure with giant robots.

In Kirby: Planet Robobot, you play as Kirby, eating things and absorbing their powers as usual. But then, the Invader Armor comes down and you kill it because you are Kirby, a being possessing infinite power.

Next you hop into the armor and it becomes the Robobot Armor.  Now you can be super powerful.

The Haltmann Works Company come to planet Popstar and is mechanizing it, and it is up to Kirby to stop them and bring peace back to Popstar. Kirby will travel to seven different world to stop the Haltmann Works Company.

The gameplay is mostly the same as past Kirby games, Kirby eats enemies, Kirby absorbs enemy’s powers, Kirby gets copy ability and defeats more enemies. Most copy abilities return from past games with a few left in the past. Three new copy abilities are introduced, Doctor, Poison and ESP, which are all fun to use with my favorite being Doctor.

When Kirby gets into the Robobot armor, he becomes really powerful and can destroy bosses with ease.  There are thirteen different modes for the Robobot Armor. The modes are copy abilities but for the Robobot Armor. The thirteen modes are beam, bomb, cutter, ESP, fire, ice, jet, mike, parasol, spark, stone, sword and wheel. Jet is a special case because when you obtain it, the game turns into a 2-D shooter.

In each level there are three code cubes hidden hidden around each level, except for the first and boss levels and maybe other levels I have not encountered yet. To reach the boss level of each world, you must collect a certain number of code cubes.  Collecting all code cubes in a world unlocks a secret level.

Scattered around the game are stickers.  There are two types of stickers, normal and rare.  Normal stickers can be collected over and over again and give you a random sticker. Rare stickers on the other hand, can only be collected once and give a certain sticker.  The stickers are based on past Kirby games and some extra ones for this game. At this point you may be asking, “What is the point of these, stickers,” well dear reader, I will answer that question. They are used to decorate your Robobot Armor. You can put one sticker on each of the Robobot’s arms, that’s two just in case you were not sure.

This game is on the easy side but is still loads of fun.  I can’t wait to play it again.  This game is another amazing entry in the Kirby series.

I give it 5/5 stars.
