Disney’s 2016 Plate Includes a Marvelous Civil War, Strange Heroes and Yes, Another Star Wars Movie

disneymovies

Last year was an amazing one for movies. We not only got a second Avengers film and an Ant-Man film (which nobody believed would ever work, and yet it did!), but we finally got a good, new Star Wars film.

Yeah, it’s going to be impossible tough to beat seeing a new Star Wars films in theaters that I actually loved!

Yes, it was glorious and I still need to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens a few more times while it’s still in theaters. (Shh… please don’t tell me wife.) But 2016 is looking pretty stellar itself.

Disney’s continuing with more amazing Marvel movies (better than last year even!), some live action versions of classic Disney cartoons, and yes, even another new Star Wars movie! But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There’s also a Finding Nemo sequel, Johnny Depp’s return as the Mad Hatter, and a new Roald Dahl film directed by some guy named Steven Spielberg.

Zootopia

March 4, 2016

The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when rookie Officer Judy Hopps (voice of Ginnifer Goodwin) arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (voice of Jason Bateman), to solve the mystery.

But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd and Frank Grillo, with William Hurt and Daniel Brüh.

  1. I can’t wait to see finding Dory! Love Finding Nemo and Dory is just such a great character that you know it’s going to be a family favorite for sure!

  2. I cannot wait for the new Captain America movie to come out. The preview looks awesome. Dr. Strange on the other hand, i’ll wait for it come out on rental. I am not a fan of Benidict Cumberpatch either, especially in a superhero role. I think it will do okay due to hardcore comic readers, but I do not think it will be a blockbuster.
