Sundays in the Fall are awesome. The weather’s starting to get a bit chilly. The leaves are turning red and orange. And the TV’s loaded with, what else, Fooooootball!
On the weekends, I try to help Allie out with the cooking. She works hard all week to pull together delicious meals for us, so the least I can do is whip up something on the weekend for the family. But since I don’t cook all that often, that means it could take me, well, way too long to put something together.
That’s why I’m in love with Campbell’s Slow Cooker Sauces. These incredibly easy-to-use Campbell’s Sauces are perfect for any night of the week, not just Game Day. Currently, Campbell’s Sauces come in six different varieties: Tavern Style Pot Roast, Apple Bourbon Pulled Pork, Beef Stew, Southern BBQ, Sweet Korean BBQ, and Hawaiian Pork.
Allie’s used a slow cooker in the past, but I’ve never touched one before. So I happily accepted the challenge!
We normally don’t cook with pork, so I decided to substitute chicken breasts instead and use the Apple Bourbon Pulled Pork sauce. I guess you could say I just totally invented a new recipe then, right? I’m seriously talented in the kitchen I know!
Here’s how crazy this meal is to pull together:
- Add 2-3 pounds of pork (or in my case, chicken) to the slow cooker
- Pour Apple Bourbon Pulled Pork sauce into slow cooker
- Set controls to High
- Wait 4-6 hours (or 7 to 9 hours if you set it at Low)
That’s it. It took me all of 5 minutes to set everything up.
Yeah, seriously tough work, right?
While my delicious meal cooked for the next few hours, I was free to take care of much more important things.
Like watching football!
Okay, so there’s probably better things I could be doing with my freed up time. Such as doing chores around the house. Exercising. Playing with the boys. You get the picture.
I’m telling you, Campbell’s Slow Cooker Sauces are so magical they not only turn you into a master chef in the kitchen, but they’ll give you back your Sunday afternoons too!
Oh, and of course, they taste amazing as well. Here’s the finished product (with a side of veggies and cole slaw salad) after a long hard day of staying out of the kitchen.
The Apple Bourbon flavor is amazing. The chicken came out soft but not completely shredded (which is how I wanted it). Such a tangy and sweet sauce all around. We’ll definitely be making this bad boy again! I just hope I can find a free 5 minutes in the future to cook again with Campbell’s Sauces…

You make this look so good! I want to get a crock pot and I’d love to use Campbell’s Slow Cooking sauces for my first try – in fact, I love your version here and want to try it!
The Apple Bourbon sounds really good, plus you can’t beat 5 minutes! 🙂
Looks delicious and I am sure Campbell’s has this perfectly flavoured. I love using my Crock Pot, it is a really great thing.
That looks quite tasty! I have yet to try them. I always see them in the store, but never buy them. I’ll give them a try.
That stuff is delicious. I’ve “cheated” and pretended it was my creation a few times just to impress my kids and husband. It’s so good!
Haha! It looks delicious! I haven’t tried these yet.
I had heard of these but hadn’t tried them yet. We use our slow cooker all the time, so I will have to give some of these a try.
