Double Kid Review: Mario Party 10 Brings Home a Trio of Game Modes

Next to Mario Kart, the Mario Party series of games probably earn the title of "most played" in our house. I remember getting Mario Party 8 when we first bought the Wii years ago, and seeing Jason's eyes light up brighter than a Super Mario Star. Now Mario Party 10 is out for the Wii U and we even had a big ol' Mario Pizza Party of our own to celebrate! Since this game is such a big release and both my boys have played it a lot, they agreed to both write up a review. So you get two opinions in one great post! It's interesting to see the differences ...

We Partied On With Mario, Luigi and the Whole Mario Party 10 Gang

Last week, we partied like it was 1999! (10 bonus points if you catch that reference.) Okay, so it was more like 2015. But my boys partied like it was a Mario Party. And...well, it was! To help celebrate the release of Nintendo's Mario Party 10, our best buds over at Nintendo sent us a huge box full o' the best party supplies this side of the Mushroom Kingdom! Balloons. Confetti. Streamers. DIY party hats. A Bowser mask. Plush Bowser toys. A few Mario Party Amiibos. Oh, and a little game called Mario Party 10. They also offered to pay for the pizzas (Thanks, guys!), and so a full-on Mario Pizza Party was underway! ...

Kid Review: Nintendo’s Majora’s Mask 3D Is Worth Playing Over and Over Again

Games: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D Reviewer: Jason, Age 11 The moon is crashing down in just 3 days and what do you do?  Plan a carnival on the day the moon falls or save the world?  The people of Clock Town choose the first but Link chooses the second.  In this remake of a gaming classic, ( Which I haven’t played ) you have to save the 4 giants from their imprisonment and stop the moon from crashing into the land of Termina. I have loved the 3 Zelda games I have played before and this game is no exception.  This game takes place right after Ocarina of Time where ...

Make your Own Paper Masks from Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask

Majora’s Mask 3D just game out on the 13th of February and there are a lot of masks in the game.  If you want 5 of the masks yourself you can have them! On the Play Nintendo website you can get the Deku Mask, Goron Mask, Zora Mask, Fierce Deity Mask and Majora’s Mask.  Just print them out, cut them out and add string. No Special Powers included. Jason's scissors skills have vastly improved over the years. The 5 masks are cut and ready to be stringed up! After adding the stretchy string, we were all ready to transform! Goron Mask Selfie!   Where's Ryan? All I see is this Fierce Deity here.   Uh ...

Classic Gaming in Your PJs – The Nintendo eShop Rules

I remember the days of dumping out my piggy bank, scooping up all the quarters and heading to the local arcade. Yeah, back in my day, that's how we played video games. Oh, and we walked through 10 feet of snow for 50 miles just to get to the arcade too. Yeah, that's the ticket. These days, man, kids have it sooo easy. What with their Nintendo 3DS systems, their Wii U's and loads of stores filled with games to  keep them occupied for a dozen lifetimes. But get this... today's gamers can do more than just play Super Mario Bros. in their jammies; they can buy and download it too! If you haven't ...

Kid Review: Nintendo is Remixing the Games You Love

Games: Ultimate NES Remix and NES Remix Pack Reviewer: Jason, Age 11 I just got Ultimate NES Remix for the 3DS and NES Remix Pack for the Wii U! These games give a host of rapid fire challenges from NES games. Both of these games give me a chance to experience past NES games I never played. They also have a remix mode which is NES games remixed. Some examples are Link vs. Donkey Kong that is the original Donkey Kong but you're Link and you can’t jump, playing the level 2-3 in Super Mario Bros but you can’t stop moving. Eliminate moving viruses in Dr. Mario and so much more. Classic NES games on the WiiU... with ...
